Shubh Deepavali

Wishing all readers a very happy Deepavali and a prosperous new year!

India is handling its major issues with courage and focus. 1. Naxal threat, 2. Chinese intervention and 3. Economic reforms. We can emerge as a superpower earlier than most expect only if political will is shown. We need to assert ourselves for that to happen.

The average Indian is an intelligent and a hard working individual. It is the leadership that we elect that needs to perform. More people need to vote and vote for development. Sadly only 45% voted in Pune during Maharashtra Assembly elections. This is just not on. We need to change this apathy. Citizens must be made aware of the importance of their 'single' vote. And those of us who voted must ensure that these political representatives work for us, not for themselves.

We must 'assert' ourselves in every forum and 'question' every unethical action of our representatives. That is the way forward.

Bharti Airtel is a potential 'buy' for muhurat trading today. But it must be held till next Deepavali. Larsen and IDFC are giving us good returns already but they are to be held till next Deepavali as well. So is SBI, HDFC and HDFC Bank.

Reliance is recovering. It should offer good returns in medium term.
